There are several reasons why you would need to travel for male breast reduction. For example, you might want to visit a particular surgeon or someone with specific qualifications.
Dr. Ronald Schuster sees many out-of-town patients due to his expertise in gynecomastia surgery. He uses a unique approach that creates natural-looking results with minimal scarring.

Where Can I Stay if I Travel for Surgery?
It is important to remain in Baltimore after your procedure to monitor your healing. If you are thinking about driving to town, you will need to stay for at least one night before and one night after surgery. If you are going to fly, we recommend staying for at least 2-3 days after surgery if at all possible. There is a routine post op appointment one week after surgery This can be done either in person or virtually online.
We recommend that you find lodging in the Baltimore County area, which includes Towson, Roland Park, Hunt Valley, and Timonium. There are also a lot of options downtown in the Inner Harbor. As part of catering to patients visiting us from out of town, our staff can help you figure out how to get here, where to stay, and where to eat.
Keep in mind that we will want to see you in the office the day before surgery, at surgery, and again before you leave town. You will see Dr. Schuster for your last in-person post-op appointment to ensure everything looks good for you to travel. This is the perfect time to ask any questions that you may have about taking care of yourself when you return home.
What Do I Need to Know About the Recovery?
It is best to travel with a friend or family member if possible. However, we can help arrange for responsible nurses or assistants, if needed, to aid you during your early stages of recovery. You will need to have a responsible adult stay with you the night after surgery.
Do not carry heavy luggage on your way home. The strain on your chest can cause issues with the healing of the incision sites. Have someone assist you with checking your bags. If you have a carry-on bag, make sure it isn’t too heavy either. Once you are on board your flight, it is important to remember to walk aisles every hour to avoid blood clots and promote healing.
